AMES, Iowa -- An Iowa State bus driver who says he shouldn't be blamed for a fatal hit-and-run will make his pre-trial appearance in court this week.

Ben Clague was driving the bus that police say hit and killed ISU Freshman Emmalee Jacobs in December of 2015.

Clague pleaded not guilty to a charge of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death in February.

Police say bus surveillance video shows Clague stop the bus shortly after the accident, check for damage, and continue on his route.

The trial is scheduled for April 5.
