A bill that would increase prison time for those convicted of kidnapping children is moving ahead at the Statehouse.

Last year Michael Klunder kidnapped and killed Kathlynn Shepard in Dayton.

Klunder served nearly 20 years in prison after he abducted two other girls in the mid-1990s. He was released early for good behavior which enabled him to kidnap Shepard.

This bill would eliminate time served credits for child predators.

It passed the House and now moves on to the Senate.
