HAMDEN, Connecticut — The latest Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll has Hillary Clinton losing ground in Iowa against Republican presidential hopefuls.

In the poll, which was released Thursday, the numbers show Clinton is tied or close to being tied with every Republican candidate. Rand Paul leads Clinton by a percentage point in the state, with 43-percent to 42-percent, and Mike Huckabee and Clinton tied with 42-percent.

Jeb Bush came in at 40-percent, just a percentage point below Clinton, and Chris Christie had 39-percent versus Clinton’s 41-percent.

Clinton’s favorability rating is down from 49-percent in the previous poll on February 18th to 45-percent and 49-percent of those polled said Clinton is not honest and trustworthy.

“It isn’t just one or two Republicans who are stepping up; it’s virtually the entire GOP field that is running better against her,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the poll. He attributes the drop to distrust of Clinton over her use of personal e-mail while she was Secretary of State.

“That’s why it is difficult to see Secretary Clinton’s slippage as anything other than a further toll on her image from the furor over her e-mail,” said Brown.

The margin of error for the poll in Iowa was +/- 3.2 percentage points.
