The race among Republicans to challenge Bruce Braley in Iowa's next US. Senate race just got even more crowded.

Former Reliant Energy CEO Mark Jacobs of West Des Moines officially announced his candidacy Tuesday morning and is touring the state throughout the day to spread the message.

Jacobs kicked off his campaign at his family's business, Infomax Office Systems, in Des Moines.

Jacobs says as a former fortune 500 company leader, he knows how to work with all kinds of people and accomplish things.

“The problem with Washington is not a lack of ideas but a lack of results. Too many folks talk about the issues. Not enough leaders get things done. As a business leader, my entire experience is getting things done,” says Jacobs.

Jacobs joins six other Republicans who've announced their campaigns to take on Democratic congressman Bruce Braley.
