Police Make Arrest in Repeated Business Vandalism

OTTUMWA, Iowa — An Ottumwa man was arrested for damaging a local business on multiple occasions.

Officers from the Ottumwa Police Department executed a search warrant at 406 N. Adella, in Ottumwa, on Friday.  The search warrant was a result of an investigation into repeated damage to the Hawkeye Auto Credit business located at 302 Richmond, in Ottumwa.

During the course of the search, officers seized items that indicated that Gregory Hawk, was responsible for causing the damage.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested Gregory Allen Hawk, 54, of Ottumwa, with Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, a Class “D” Felony.

Hawk was also arrested and charged with Assault, a Simple Misdemeanor, from an incident that occurred on Friday, March 20, 2015, in the 400 Block of North Adella, in Ottumwa.

Hawk bonded out of the Wapello County Jail on Friday.
