Police Investigating Shots Fired at Apartment After Multiple Reports

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Police were on the scene of an apartment complex on Des Moines' southside Monday night.

Officers were dispatched to Southern Knolls apartments at 3720 southeast 14th St. about 9 p.m. Police on scene say they received multiple calls Monday from witnesses who heard gunfire.

According to police, the shooting was related to a dispute over money. A man reportedly shot into an apartment. WHO-TV's Mike DaSilva reports there are bullet holes in the door and in the hallway of the apartment complex.

Officers are currently interviewing a woman and her child inside one of the apartments.

No injuries were reported, and police say the shooter is at large.
