DES MOINES, Iowa  —  Two West Des Moines parents charged in connection with the death of their teenage daughter made their first court appearances Friday morning.

Nicole and Joseph Finn are each facing charges of kidnapping, child endangerment and neglect of  dependent person.  Nicole Finn is also charged with First Degree Murder for the death of her 16 year old daughter Natalie in October.

Police aren’t saying what lead to Natalie’s death and autopsy results aren’t being released.  Neighbors tell Channel 13 that Natalie and her siblings appeared to be malnourished and say the family’s home was filled with trash.

If convicted on all counts each of the Finns could face life in prison.  Both parents are due back in court on December 19th for a preliminary hearing.
