The man accused of running over and killing a pedestrian in Des Moines last month says he is not guilty.

Forty-two-year-old Troy Sowers entered his plea Monday morning in Polk County court. He’s charged with operating while intoxicated and his trial has been scheduled to start in September.

Police say he hit and killed 69-year-old Robert Conn in the Eagles Club parking lot on June 1st.

Sowers has a long arrest record that includes drugs and public intoxication. This is his fourth OWI.
