One Man Shot Multiple Times in Early Morning Fort Dodge Shooting

FORT DODGE, Iowa — One man sustained multiple gunshot wounds after an early morning shooting occurred Saturday.

At approximately 4 a.m. Saturday, officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Southwest 10th Avenue for a call regarding shots fired in the area.

Upon arrival, authorities located one injured victim, 31-year-old Dominick Diekman of Fort Dodge. Diekman was transported by life flight helicopter after being taken to Unity Point Hospital for multiple gunshot wounds.

His current condition is unknown, according to the Fort Dodge Police Department.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident, but at this time there are no suspects.
