ONE KILLED: Fatal Woodbury County Crash

The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a person in Woodbury County Monday.

Officials haven’t released the name of the person killed in the accident near Sloan. It happened around 2:19 p.m. on county road K45 when a northbound straight truck driven by 23-year-old Boe Jenkins was hit head on by a Chevy pickup that crossed the center line.

The driver of the pickup truck was killed in the accident and Jenkins suffered minor injuries.

Officials have not released the man of the person killed pending positive identification from an autopsy.

A third vehicle swerved to avoid the accident and ended up in a field. The driver, 22-year-old Chad Carlson, was not injured.

The Iowa State Patrol and the Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the accident.
