DES MOINES, Iowa -- Des Moines police are investigating a weekend shooting that injured one person Sunday.

It all started around 8 p.m. in the area of 22nd Street and Lincoln Avenue. That's where police say someone fired shots from a vehicle. One person was struck as well as a house nearby.

The victim, 18-year-old Yarell Fisher, was taken to Mercy Medical Center in a van carrying several other people. Police tell us they held the people inside that vehicle at gunpoint until they could be detained.

They say it was only to take them in as witnesses.

We're told Fisher is expected to survive.

Police say do not have a suspect in the case yet.
