Sonny-WangAMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Medical Examiner has identified a man killed in an Ames house fire over the weekend.

Emergency crews responded to the home at 1322 Illinois Street at about 11 p.m. Sunday. When crews arrived on the scene the house was fully engulfed in flames.

Two people were able to escape from the home by jumping from a second story window. Carl Boese, 27, and Lin Yang, 26, were taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames for treatment.  Xiangyi “Sonny” Wang, 25, died of smoke inhalation in a second story bedroom of the home.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
