ROCHESTER, Minnesota -- A reporter from an Iowa-based television station got a surprise during a live report on a bank robbery Tuesday.

Adam Sallet, a reporter for KIMT in Mason City, was doing a report for the midday news about a bank robbery in Rochester, Minnesota when the manager ran out of the bank and told him the suspect returned to the scene.

Sallet informed the viewers about what was happening, tossed back to the studio, and then said he's going to call police.

“Just 24 hours ago, this bank... What? Oh that's the robber! Uh, this is live TV folks. The robber just went by according to the bank employee, so I gotta go here and call 911. I'll talk to you later,” said Sallet.

Later in the show, Sallet updated viewers that the robber had been taken into custody.
