An Ankeny man charged with two counts of vehicular homicide will not face a jury.

Forty-eight-year-old Kevin Dalasta has waived his right to a jury trial, which means a Polk County judge will decide his fate.

The charges stem from an accident in May 2010. Police say Dalasta was behind the wheel when he ran a stop sign and slammed into a van driven by Heather DeJoode. Heather and her 3-year-son Chase were severely injured in the crash.

Her other two children, 5-year-old Carson and 5-month-old Claire died from their injuries.

Dalasta has pleaded not guilty to all charges. His trial is set for April 9th.
