JANESVILLE, Iowa — Authorities are investigating the cause of a Janesville home explosion.

It happened Monday afternoon in the 500 block of Maple Street and caused the home to catch fire. It took two fire crews to put out the flames.

The homeowner is lucky to be alive. Officials say he walked out just minutes before it all started.

“I’m glad nobody was hurt, and we may have lost a house out of the deal, but everything can be replaced, just glad that everybody is ok,” says Andy Eibey.

No one was hurt.
