A new Hy-Vee opened in the metro Tuesday, adding hundreds of jobs to the area.
Hy-Vee unveiled its 90,039 square foot supermarket in Waukee Tuesday morning.
The Waukee store will employ 600 workers, both full and part time.
Along with general groceries, the store has a restaurant, sushi bar, pharmacy, bakery and other specialty markets. It’s located at 1005 East Hickman Road.
A similar store in on the southwest side of Ankeny opens at the end of September.
