NEVADA, Iowa- Paula Brown of Story City commutes in her jeep from Story City to an Ames bank, where she works.  Her shiny red Jeep Wrangler was bought last November. “Mine’s a daily driver, we have a toy that we play with off-roading,” says Brown. She says she likes to take their other jeep off beaten path. “We’ve traveled to several different states and done off-roading,” said Brown

There will be a meeting of kindred spirits this weekend in Nevada as the all Iowa Jeep Show and 4X4 event will be held at the Story County Fairgrounds.  Crews have been busy this week constructing an obstacle course for the event. “We haul in a lot of dirt and a lot of obstacles to use,” said Brown.

Admission to play with your jeep is $25, only $10 if you just want to watch. The event is 8-5 both Saturday and Sunday.  Last year there were 382 jeeps and over 1200 spectators.

There will be some WWII re-inactments, and military jeep displays, including a half track.  There is also remote controlled cars for kids, vendors and a swap meet. The group has a Facebook page, and several Jeep fans were expressing a lot of excitement as the event draws close.
