An Iowa teacher is being honored at the White House in Washington, D.C.

Jill Biden, a former teacher and wife of Vice President Joe Biden, is hosting a reception Monday honoring the 2012 National Teacher of the Year finalists.

Charity Campbell is the finalist from Iowa. She’s a physical education teacher at Norwalk Middle School. Her focus is getting kids active in and out of the classroom.

Tuesday, President Obama will honor the National Teacher of the Year and the finalists at the Rose Garden.
