The man charged with sexually abusing and killing five-year-old Evelyn Miller is expected to enter a plea Monday.

In September, prosecutors charged Casey Frederiksen in the 2005 case. He was the boyfriend of Evelyn’s mother at the time and was living in the same Floyd apartment.

Miller disappeared from the apartment on July 1st, 2005. Her body was found five days later next to the Cedar River. The cause of death was determined to be sharp force injuries including those to the neck. The autopsy also found she had been sexually abused.

This is the second time Frederiksen has been on the schedule for arraignment. Earlier this month, a judge ordered a new attorney for him because of a conflict of interest.

Frederiksen was transferred back to Iowa to stand trial in the case. He had been serving a federal prison sentence for child pornography and drug charges.
