A military family will be moving into a new home after receiving a special gift.

Wells Fargo and Military Warriors Support Foundation teamed up to give Bradly Hanawalt and his family a mortgage-free home.

“I want to congratulate you. I want to thank you for your service and thank your family for your sacrifice and welcome home,” Wells Fargo’s Tyler Smith announced.

This is the first “green home” the groups have donated.

Hanawalt served in Afghanistan and was injured when his truck was hit by a road side bomb.

The military gave him the Purple Heart for his service.

His family got the chance to go through the home Thursday morning.

Volunteers spent nearly one-thousand hours in renovating it.

“We are extremely honored to reward this family with this home. They are incredibly humble, grateful, and extremely kind family and we are honored to join them into our family,” Casey Kinser said.

The family currently rents a home in Des Moines but will move into this new one over the weekend.
