A former Des Moines police officer will serve six months home confinement and three years probation for his involvement in a mortgage fraud scheme.

Wade Wojewoda pled guilty in April to knowingly receiving loan proceeds that were fraudulently obtained.

Prosecutors say Wojewoda’s wife, Bobbi Jo used her position as an appraiser to inflate home values in order to obtain mortgages for herself and another couple.

They’ll be sentenced next month.

Wade Wojewoda resigned from the Des Moines police department a month ago.
