Wells Fargo is making more job cuts in the Des Moines metro.

The company announced Tuesday it is laying off 263 people. Most of the cuts come from the credit card call center in West Des Moines but there are also some cuts in mortgage and consumer loan processing.

A company spokesperson says the layoffs are part of an effort to consolidate operations.

Those who are affected by the layoffs have been given 60-days notice and Wells Fargo plans to try to find them positions open within the company. If they aren’t able to find another position with Wells Fargo within 60 days they will be given separation benefits.

Since July 18th, Wells Fargo has cut 408 jobs in the metro.
