The Department of Cultural Affairs says it has created a new office to handle media production in Iowa. It comes four years after the Iowa Film Office was shut down over misused tax credits.

The Produce Iowa office will be headed by Liz Gilman. She has run her own media business from West Des Moines for more than 20 years.

The office will support the media production industry in the state, encourage economic development and promote Iowa. It will help lure film, television, and digital media projects to the state.

The Produce Iowa office is located in the State Historical Building in downtown Des Moines.
