DES MOINES, Iowa – At least 360 people have already registered for the annual MDA Muscle Walk of Des Moines.
The funds that are raised during the event allow the Muscular Dystrophy Association to invest in research to find treatments and cures for muscle disease. They also help support MDA’s life-enhancing programs such as clinics and support groups, which includes the MDA Clinic at Unity Point in Des Moines and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the Iowa City area.
The MDA Muscle Walk of Des Moines will be held at Principal Park in Des Moines on Saturday, April 11. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m.
To register prior to the event, visit www.musclewalkmda.org/desmoines, or call the local MDA office at 319-393-8905.
Roughly 150 walks throughout the nation are scheduled this year.
