DES MOINES, Iowa -- Marco Rubio's staffers are setting their room up at the downtown Marriot as they hope late momentum can power them through the night and into an upset victory similar to what Mike Huckabee experienced in 2008.

The first-term senator picked up a huge endorsement from the Des Moines Register two weekends ago, which they hope can help Monday night during the caucuses.

Political pundits have said Rubio's agenda isn't too hot like a Donald Trump or Ted Cruz where they might scare away supporters, and he's not too mild like a Ben Carson who may not be able to drum up passion or enthusiasm.

Rubio is somewhere in the middle which makes many voters feel safe.
