DES MOINES, Iowa -- Des Moines police have released the name of a man who was hit and killed when he was crossing Hubbell Avenue Tuesday night.
Police say 61-year-old James Pascasio was crossing Hubbell Avenue at E. 42nd Street around 5:30 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound on Hubbell.
Pascasio was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say the vehicle that hit Pascasio was driven by 19-year-old Osmar Portillo-Rodrigues.
Police are continuing their investigation but say it doesn’t look like excessive speed nor impairment were contributing factors.
