APPANOOSE COUNTY, Iowa — A Wayne County man was killed in a single vehicle accident east of Numa, Thursday night.

Emergency crews responded to a crash just after 8 p.m. in the 17000 block of Highway J46.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel found the body of Daniel E. Crisp, 28, of Seymour in the dich. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The initial 911 call reported that the pickup truck rolled into the north dich of the highway.

Officials believe that Crisp was exceeding the speed limit as he entered a left hand curve, going eastbound. He lost control of his 2005 Ford F350 Super Duty Pickup and began to flip and roll. Crisp was not wearing a seat belt, and was ejected from the truck, the Appanoose County Sheriff’s office said in a release.

The crash is still under investigation. Centerville Police, Centerville Fire, Mercy Ambulance and the Appanoose County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted the Appanoose County Sheriff’s office.
