DES MOINES, Iowa -- The man accused of killing a child made his first court appearance on Wednesday.

Guadalupe Villa-Guzman is charged with vehicular homicide, reckless driving and driving while suspended.

The charges stem from an incident on Monday when police say Villa-Guzman went off the road, crashed through a fence, and hit a trampoline that two boys were playing on.

Six-year-old Irving Aguilar-Gonzalez died, while four-year-old Javier Falcon got away with just a scratch.

Villa-Guzman's next hearing is on June 12, and his bond is set at $55,000.
