ALTOONA, Iowa — Some jolly smiles welcomed a new agreement for Jolly Holiday Lights on Monday.

After flooding shut down the annual fundraiser at Water Works Park in December, Make-A-Wish Iowa decided its event will move to the Adventureland campground in Altoona.

Jolly Holiday Lights was held at Water Works Park for more than two decades. Adventureland is sponsoring the event and will donate the use of the campground.

CEO Chris Vogesser said Make-A-Wish is on track to make 192 wishes this year for Iowa families and their children, that’s about one wish every other day. Last year, they granted 189 wishes.

“This morning, we were looking over logistics and how traffic is going to flow. There’s plenty of opportunity to get that done. We’re excited to get started on October 1 and couldn’t be happier,” Voggesser said.

Vogesser stopped by the Channel 13 studio to talk about what the move means for the foundation and the Iowa families that rely on it. Watch the interview above.
