IOWA  —  Approximately three quarters of Iowans believe the state’s mental health system is in crisis.

These statistics come from a new Des Moines Register – Mediacom poll, which also revealed child welfare services are another major concern.

The findings come as state leaders are ready to roll out a plan to expand mental health services, including the addition of “access centers” for people who need immediate help.
