Monday night the Des Moines city council is moving forward with its plan to prevent some convenience stores from selling liquor.

The plan would restrict certain stores from selling liquor and determine where it could be sold within city limits.

Following the hearing, the council will hold a first and final consideration on the changes. The council will also consider extending a temporary moratorium on new liquor licenses at convenience stores.
