One of central Iowa's most popular state parks should be open just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.
The Canyon Road in the lower valley area of Ledges State Park in Boone County was closed following a flash flood in August of 2010. The flood tore up the road and left debris behind.
Visitors to the park have been able to walk down into the canyon, but vehicle traffic has been blocked off.
The DNR says clean-up and repairs will be completed before the holiday weekend begins.
The upper camping area of the park is already open.
