WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — The Kingdom Kids Academy announced on Tuesday it will be closing soon.

There are currently 62 children that go to the academy. The majority of them, who are on state aid, are provided care there.

The Nebraska-based owners declined to comment on the academy shutting its doors.

However, employees say the sudden closure comes after a new director and owner accepted the position and backed out last minute.

Some parents also wonder if there’s more to it.

“It`s a little concerning that it could go like this, this quickly all the sudden things fall apart,” parent Andrew Downs said. “I mean what was it like there everyday? We were in charge of this place that was caring for my kid every day for the past six weeks.”

The final day of the daycare center is next Wednesday.
