Clive and West Des Moines Police Departments have teamed up to investigate a string of robberies.

Police say in the last two weeks three robberies have occurred in the Clocktower Square Business District, they aren’t calling the incidents connected, but say there are enough similarities that detectives from both cities will work together in the investigations

The first incident happened Sunday, April 21 at the Caribou Coffee in Clive. The suspect described as a white male in his 40’s with a bandana over his face and a paper sack over his left hand entered the coffee shop shortly after closing and demanded cash. He fled with three blue money bags.

The second incident occurred at Quiznos in West Des Moines on Tuesday, April 23. A suspect described as a male about 5 feet 5 inches tall wearing all black robbed the store then fled in a white boxy vehicle.

The most recent incident happened at The Sally Beauty Supply in West Des Moines. The store was robbed by a suspect wearing all black and welding a knife.

Police handed out fliers to area businesses asking employees to be cautious and call if they see anything suspicious.
