WINTERSET, Iowa — GOP Presidential Candidate Donald Trump was endorsed by the daughter of John Wayne on Tuesday morning.

Aissa Wayne met trump at the John Wayne Birthplace and Museum in Winterset. Standing in front of a wax statue of John Wayne, Trump said that he had met Wayne one time and was very impressed with him.

“I just think that he’s bigger than life,” said Aissa Wayne. “I think that he transcends politics, and I think he’s going to get Democrats, Independents and Republicans.”

The event was moved indoors into Tuesday morning after snow began falling in the Winterset area. Supporters and the media crammed into the new Birthplace Museum, which has been open less than a year.

“I think that he shows a lot of strength, I think that he’ll protect America from our enemies,” said Wayne. “I could be talking about John Wayne. It’s interesting they are two very different personalities, but have those same qualities of leadership.”

“I tell you what I’ve been a long time fan, and this all began when I came here, and it was all so fascinating. I really didn’t want to leave there was so much to see,” said Trump. “Little did I know that you’d be endorsing me and supporting me. I really appreciate it, this is such an honor today.”

Taking questions from the media Trump was asked about Rush Limbaugh saying he wasn’t a real conservative. Trump responded by saying he had no problem with Limbaugh, and no problem with being a conservative.
