Ames, Iowa — Ten years ago Iowa State University made a big promise to the kids at one of Iowa’s most racially diverse and economically disadvantaged schools, Moulton Elementary.

The promise: graduate high school, stay out of trouble and you can go to Iowa State for free or at least at a sharply discounted rate. How did it work out? Dan Winters has this follow-up.
