FORT MADISON, Iowa  --  The Iowa State Penitentiary is taking action against five inmates for using synthetic drugs.

The inmates were all found guilty of violating prison rules and convicted of possession or use of synthetic marijuana.

Prison officials have not yet said how the drugs made it into the prison, but have made changes to better screen visitors.
