A man from New Albin, Iowa who left for Nepal about a week ago is missing.
The man, Cole Donahue, was going to the area to climb Mount Everest, but didn't tell friends his specific plans.
Family and friends have tried to call and text his cell phone, but they have been unable to reach Donahue. They have now set up a Facebook page called Cole Donahue - Missing.
They also contacted the U.S. Embassy and set up a missing person's account through CNN.
Cole’s brother, Patrick Donahue, said he was shocked to hear the news about the earthquake.
"What are the chances that my brother goes on a random trip to Nepal at the same time they have an earthquake that they haven't had the magnitude in thirty years," Patrick said.
Donahue's brother also said he and his wife are getting extremely anxious to help find him. They are thinking about heading over to Nepal themselves to try and locate him.
Donahue's last suspected location was to be at Mount Everest base camp the day before the Nepal earthquake and avalanche struck.
