Initial, Continuing Unemployment Claims Increase in Iowa


DES MOINES, Iowa – The state of Iowa saw another increase in initial and continuing unemployment claims last week.

According to Iowa Workforce Development 9,458 initial claims were filed last week. That’s up more than 3,000 from the week before.

Continuing claims were at 37,112. That’s up 2,300 from the previous week.

More than $10.2 million in benefits were paid.
