A new coffee shop is opening up in the quad cities, offering your morning coffee, with a side of sex appeal. Hot Cups is located near Palmer College in Davenport. Reporter Denise Hnytka from Channel 13’s sister station WQAD reports on the new business.

It was opening day for the steamiest coffee shop in town, claiming to be the only bikini coffee shop in the Midwest. “Nothings ever different, everybody has the same ideas and I wanted to put a full twist on it.” said Rhonda Carpenter, owner of Hot Cups.

Carpenter and her partner Stephanie Getch wanted a change of scenery, so they quit their jobs to open up the new shop. “We are making it very tasteful, nothing degrading towards our girls or us at all.”

The shop offers a drive-thru and keeps customers at a distance, while delivering everything the name promises in their luscious lattes and curvy cappuccinos.

“Our sizes come in A, B, and C cups. That’s 12, 16, and 20 ounces.”

In the case of Hot Cups, Victoria’s Secret is in the glue holding their outfits in place. “I love it. If I wasn’t comfortable, I wouldn’t work here.”

And while opening day hasn't been a busy one they’re getting good word of mouth. “Everyone is very receptive, they’re very respectful, they say ‘more power to you.’ “

“On our first day we’ve actually had a few women come in, and they want to sit and chit chat just like everybody else.”

There are already plans to expand possibly to Chicago, Iowa City, and even Des Moines.
