HOMICIDE CASE: Tama Victim Stabbed In Neck

The name and the cause of death of a Tama homicide victim has been released by police.

The body of 32-year-old Kerry O’Clair-Jefferson was found in a Tama home Wednesday afternoon between 2:30 and 3:00 p.m.

The autopsy confirms O’Clair-Jefferson’s death was a homicide and that she was stabbed in the neck.

Police have taken 57-year-old Ginger Jefferson, of Toledo, into custody as a material witness.

“Right now we are investigating a homicide. We don’t know a whole lot of details yet. DCI has coming in to do an investigation,” Tama Police Chief Jeff Filloon said.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Tama County Sheriff, Toledo Police Department, Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police, and the tama County Attorney’s Office are assisting the Tama Police Department in this homicide case.
