There is an arsonist on the loose in the small city of Lucas, and the mayor’s home is among those reduced to ashes.
With just 250 residents, Lucas isn’t the kind of place where you would expect dangerous crime. But that’s what neighbors are facing. Friday, an arsonist torched a vacant home.

A few hours later, a second vacant home was torched. That fire spread to the mayor’s home. He was sleeping at the time..and a neighbor helped get him out. “I woke up like at 2:30, ran next door and got my neighbor out.” says John Barnes, “It’s pretty scary. Opened my eyes. I’ll tell you I was scared to go to bed because of it.”

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the fires to call the Lucas County Sheriff’s Department.
