HOME INVASIONS: Similar Burglaries In Ames

Ames Police are investigating two home invasion robberies with some striking similarities.

The first robbery happened on March 21st at 4210 Lincoln Swing. Police say the resident told them two men entered the apartment and threatened to hurt the resident. They left with a laptop computer. No injuries were reported in the robbery.

The suspects are described as tall black males and both were wearing dark-colored hoodies.

The second robbery happened early Friday morning at 4130 Lincoln Swing #3. Resident Jason Allen told police that three men forced their way into his residence and demanded money. A gun was displayed and one of the men struck Allen on the head. An undisclosed amount of money was taken and the suspects left the scene.

Allen says the men who robbed him were black males wearing bandanas and hoodies.

Allen was treated at a local hospital for cuts to his head.

Police say they are looking into whether the robberies are linked, because of their proximity and the suspect descriptions.
