DES MOINES, Iowa — Over the next few days, a new expo will try to make your day to day life a little easier.

“We bring a traditional home show, all the normal stuff like windows and siding but we also bring the circus to it,” said Kevin Roberts, Home & Gadget Expo. “Things you never knew you had to have.”

The Home & Gadget Expo will feature home decor and home improvement products, as well as lots of gadgets like remote control drones, Grip Sticks for the kitchen and the smallest toys and habitats for the smallest pets.

“Our show not only helps with your daily life but brings you enjoyment with different types of gadgets,” said Roberts.

On the gadget side of the exhibit hall, attendees will have the chance to test-ride new hoverboards and play with drones. They can learn how to use their smartphone or tablet to control their lights, window treatments and alarm system  from their couch or from across town. The Kid Zone will have face painting, balloon artists and blow up slides.

Visitors will have the opportunity to talk with various vendors and get hands-on demonstrations.

Additional exhibitors will be educating attendees about the benefits of installing energy-efficient windows, about advances in roofing products, the advantages of siding, paint color trends, the numerous options available in flooring products, how to plan and design a game room, how to manage kitchen renovation projects, and more.

“We got a chance to win a $50,000 mortgage payoff and a couple of $2000 gift cards. Many vendors will be giving away items as well as trinkets for the kids,” said Roberts.
