HIRING OUTLOOK: Good News For The Metro

According to a new survey, the Des Moines metro is the best places in the country to find a job.

A Manpower Group survey of employers finds 28-percent of the companies they interviewed in Des Moines and West Des Moines, plan to hire more employees. They say that’s the best outlook in the nation for a metro area.

Manpower says for the coming third quarter, construction, financial activities, leisure and hospitality are among the fields that could experience bumps in hiring.

The survey also found two-percent of employers did plan to reduce staff and 69-percent will keep employment as is.

Manpower also found overall in Iowa, 27-percent of employers planned to hire in the third quarter.
