The price of a latte may help a western Iowa town maintain its levee.
Hamburg is working to raise more than $4 million in the effort. The city built up its levee eight feet during record Missouri River flooding last summer. Now it must reduce the height or raise $5.6 million to keep it.
The state already chipped in $1 million.
To get the rest, the city is trying to get 1.5 million people to donate $3 by September.
To help raise awareness of the effort, the city is making a flash mob dance video. It will be posted online by July 15th along with a link to donation.
