A former member of the Des Moines School Board is taking another look at running for Governor.

Jonathan Narcisse announced on Saturday he is forming an exploratory committee in running for the Democratic Party Primary in June.

Narcisse made the announcement on YouTube.

In 2010, he ran for Governor as an Independent under the Iowa Party label.  Narcisse won 1.8 percent of the vote.

Des Moines State Senator Jack Hatch is the only declared candidate for the Democrats so far.  Representative Bob Krause of Des Moines is also looking at a run for Governor.

The election for Governor is less than a year away but State Representative Tyler Olson has already announced his decision to drop out of the race.

Former Communications Director for Governor Branstad, Tim Albrecht said on the Insiders that he thinks the race for the Democratic spot is just beginning.

“I think you haven’t seen the Democratic nominee actually throw his or her name into the ring yet,” Albrecht said.

“I’m not going to stand in the way of any Democratic nominee that wants to sacrifice themselves on the 2014 alter,” he said.
