DES MOINES, Iowa – Governor Terry Branstad is expected to speak Thursday morning at the State Capitol in support of further development of solar energy in the state.

Solar Day 4.0 marks the fourth annual event at the capitol, aimed at bringing solar energy installers, manufacturers, renewable energy advocates and customers together. The purpose is to urge further growth of the solar industry in Iowa, showcase solar energy’s economic and development opportunities in the state, and push for Iowa to become a national leader in renewable energies.

According to a study by The Solar Foundation, solar energy created 900 jobs in Iowa in 2014, and the industry has grown in Iowa in large part thanks to the state’s solar tax incentive.
