An Urbandale student is one step closer to having her art put on the Google homepage.

Google announced the 50 state winners Wednesday in its sixth annual Doodle 4 Google competition, a contest open to kindergarten through 12th grade students across the U.S. to redesign the Google logo.

This year`s theme was “My best day ever.”

The doodle created by Urbandale Middle School student Marissa Frost includes a microscope, stethoscope, test tube, and a magnifying glass.

She says her best day ever will be when she has her PHD working to find cures to diseases.  She says making others healthier will make her day the best ever.

Marissa was one of the state winners selected from more than 130,000 students.

The winning student’s doodle will be displayed on the Google homepage on May 23rd and will receive a $30,000 college scholarship and a $50,000 technology grant for his or her school.
