People are donating blood Tuesday afternoon in honor of a seven-year-old who lost her fight with cancer.

Camryn Storbeck suddenly passed away last month after battling neuroblastoma. Her school, Crestview Elementary, organized a blood drive in her honor when she relapsed for the fourth time in March.

The blood drive is Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Crestview Elementary in Clive. Camryn’s parents say it is one way to keep their daughter’s spirit alive.

“We’re very adamant that we carry on Camryn’s legacy. And, the blood drive, making sure people know there are many ways people can help kids with life threatening conditions,” says Paul Storbeck.

Crestview Elementary School will also dedicate a tree to Camryn Tuesday afternoon. Hy-Vee will grill food and princesses from Little Princess Parties will be on hand for the event.
